What you will study

First year builds business foundations: management principles, marketing, business communication, the economic environment, accounting for decision-making and an introduction to business analytics. Teaching at Sippy Downs uses small classes and case studies drawn from Sunshine Coast small businesses, tourism operators and regional industry. Second year is where you choose a major such as marketing, management, human resource management, tourism, leisure and event management, or entrepreneurship and innovation. Subjects become applied, with team projects, live client briefs and a focus on the regional and small-business economy that dominates the Sunshine Coast. Third year features advanced major subjects, a strategy capstone and a work-integrated learning or internship placement with a local employer. Many UniSC business students complete real consulting projects for regional organisations, building a portfolio before graduation.
