What student life looks like
QUT runs two main campuses. Gardens Point sits in the Brisbane CBD on the Brisbane River next to Parliament House and the City Botanic Gardens, with business, law, science and engineering taught there. Kelvin Grove is a creative-industries precinct two kilometres north of the CBD, with creative industries, health, education and the Caboolture nursing precinct. The two campuses are linked by a free shuttle bus. Accommodation runs through QUT Student Accommodation at Kelvin Grove Urban Village and a small set of partner residences; most students commute from across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast on the South East Queensland rail network and the CityCat ferry to QUT Gardens Point. The Guild and QUT clubs and societies run more than 130 societies and a strong sports programme through QUT Sport. QUT's brand is "real-world" practice-led learning with industry mentor programmes, paid internships and a substantial Work Integrated Learning footprint across most degrees. Brisbane's climate gives open-air teaching and outdoor lunches almost year-round, and the Gardens Point precinct is a major weekend visitor site.
