WACE ATAR calculator
Enter your scaled scores to get your TEA and an estimated ATAR from TISC's 2025 conversion.
Your ATAR courses
Enter each ATAR course and its scaled score out of 100 (not your raw or combined mark).
TEA = best four scaled scores + 10% of your best language (LOTE) + 10% of Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist.
Add ATAR courses and scaled scores to see your estimated ATAR.
Estimate only, not an official ATAR. The TEA follows TISC's rules and is converted with TEA-to-ATAR points sampled from TISC's official calculator for 2025. The TEA-to-ATAR relationship changes each year; your official ATAR comes from TISC. Data: TISC ATAR calculator, 2025 completion year.
How this calculator works
- TEA. Following TISC's ATAR rules, we add your best four scaled scores, then 10% of your best language scaled score and 10% of Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist.
- ATAR. We convert the TEA with points taken from TISC's official ATAR calculator for the 2025 completion year, sampled every 5 TEA points, and interpolate between them.
What this calculator is not
This is an estimator. TISC warns that past conversions should not be used to predict future ATARs, it does not check TISC's unacceptable course combinations, and it needs scaled scores rather than raw marks. For your official ATAR, refer to TISC.

Common questions
- How is the WA ATAR calculated?
- TISC scales each ATAR course, then adds your best four scaled scores to make your Tertiary Entrance Aggregate (TEA). It adds 10% of your best Language Other Than English scaled score and 10% of your Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist scaled scores, even if those courses are not in your best four. The maximum TEA is 430. The TEA is then converted to an ATAR.
- What TEA do I need for a given ATAR?
- Using TISC's calculator for students who finished Year 12 in 2025: a TEA of 200 gave an ATAR of 61.50, 250 gave 84.45, 270 gave 90.10, 300 gave 95.55 and 380.5 gave 99.70. The conversion is recalculated every year, so 2026 values will differ.
- Why do I need scaled scores rather than my marks?
- The TEA is built from TISC scaled scores. TISC does not publish a table converting combined (school plus exam) marks to scaled scores, so this calculator starts from the scaled scores your school or TISC reports.
- Is English compulsory in the TEA?
- No. English is not forced into your best four for the TEA. Universities set their own English competence requirements for admission, which are separate from the ATAR.
- Is this calculator official?
- No. It follows TISC's published TEA rules and converts the TEA with points sampled from TISC's own online ATAR calculator for 2025. It does not apply TISC's unacceptable course combinations. For your official ATAR, refer to TISC.
