What student life looks like

The Bruce campus sits seven kilometres north of the Canberra CBD, next to the Australian Institute of Sport and the University of Canberra Hospital. The campus is a single suburban site with a strong sport precinct, with the on-campus hospital giving nursing and allied health students built-in clinical placements. Accommodation runs through UC Lodge, Cooper Lodge and South West Halls, with a growing on-campus residential village. Most non- residential students commute by bus on the network from across Canberra, with the light rail along Northbourne Avenue not yet extended to Bruce. The University of Canberra Students' Association runs around 50 clubs and UC Sport runs strong participation programmes alongside the AIS partnership. The university has a Public Policy precinct, with strong links to the federal public service and the Australian Defence Force Academy. The brand is profession-focused practical teaching, with a high concentration of teacher education, nursing, sports management and public policy graduates entering the federal and ACT government workforce.
