After graduation

UOW information technology degrees are accredited by the Australian Computer Society. Graduates work as developers, network engineers, analysts and IT consultants.

Is this the right degree for you?

You probably thrive here if

  • Students who like building things and shipping working code
  • Those who enjoy team-based software projects
  • People comfortable picking up new tools and languages independently
  • Students aiming for industry roles rather than research careers
  • Those willing to do unpaid internships to build a portfolio

It is probably not for you if

  • Students wanting deep theoretical computer science (consider a BCompSc or BSc Adv with computer science)
  • Those who hate group work or pair programming
  • Anyone unwilling to learn outside the formal curriculum
