What you will study

At Campbelltown, Parramatta and Penrith, students choose from majors in cyber security and ethical hacking, enterprise systems and architecture, health informatics, multimedia computing, networking and cloud computing, and software development. The Sydney City campus offers cyber security and ethical hacking, networking and cloud computing, and software development. The degree finishes with a final-year team project, often for a local business or organisation, that applies programming, systems and project management skills to a real problem. With suitable subject choices students can also meet the requirements for some industry certifications.

Placement and industry experience

The capstone is a final-year team project, often completed for a local business or organisation, in which students apply what they have learned to a real-world ICT problem and develop team and project management skills.

Is this the right degree for you?

You probably thrive here if

  • Students who like building things and shipping working code
  • Those who enjoy team-based software projects
  • People comfortable picking up new tools and languages independently
  • Students aiming for industry roles rather than research careers
  • Those willing to do unpaid internships to build a portfolio

It is probably not for you if

  • Students wanting deep theoretical computer science (consider a BCompSc or BSc Adv with computer science)
  • Those who hate group work or pair programming
  • Anyone unwilling to learn outside the formal curriculum
