What you will study
Foundation units cover the structure and function of the human body, human development and the Australian health system. Clinical units cover cardiovascular, respiratory, mental health, traumatic and medical emergencies; maternal, neonatal, paediatric and geriatric care; and emergency management, including mass casualty incidents.
Placement and industry experience
Clinical placements in community settings, hospitals and public and private ambulance services are spread across all three years; students meet costs such as uniforms, medical and fitness assessment and travel.
Career outcomes
- Graduates work as registered paramedics with Ambulance Victoria and other state ambulance services after Ahpra registration.
- Other destinations include hospital, event, industrial and community paramedicine roles.
- Experienced paramedics can progress to intensive care and aeromedical roles through further training.
