What student life looks like
Monash runs four Australian teaching campuses. Clayton is the flagship, a large suburban precinct in Melbourne's south-east next to the Australian Synchrotron and the Victorian Heart Hospital, with most engineering, IT, science and medicine taught there. Caulfield houses business, art, design and architecture in the inner south-east on the Frankston line, Peninsula campus sits at Frankston for nursing and primary education, and Parkville is the pharmacy campus next to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Monash also operates a full campus at Sunway in Malaysia and degree partnerships in Indonesia and India. Accommodation runs through Monash Residential Services at Clayton and Peninsula. Clayton is almost entirely commuter-served by the 601 shuttle to Huntingdale station and a dense bus network; the planned Suburban Rail Loop is designed to put Clayton on a metro line by the early 2030s. The Monash Student Association and the Wholefoods cafe are long- running campus institutions, and Clayton's open green spaces and the Northern Plaza precinct give the campus a college-town feel despite its size. Semester one runs late February to early June and semester two late July to early November.
