What student life looks like
Macquarie sits on a single parkland campus in Macquarie Park, 16 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD, anchored by the Lake on campus and the new Macquarie University Incubator. The Sydney Metro Northwest stop, Macquarie University station, opens onto the campus and is the easiest commute of any northern Sydney uni. The MQ Health precinct (including Macquarie University Hospital, the only on-campus private teaching hospital in Australia) sits next to the Faculty of Medicine. Accommodation runs through Macquarie University Village and Robert Menzies College, with a substantial residential cohort plus a large commuter population from the Hills District, the Inner West and the North Shore. The Macquarie University Students Council and the U@MQ campus engagement team run more than 90 clubs and the Wallumattagal Bushland Reserve runs through campus, giving it a greener feel than other Sydney unis. Macquarie pioneered the term "PACE" (Professional and Community Engagement) and embeds work- integrated learning units across most undergraduate degrees.
