Western Sydney University interviews domestic general and rural applicants by Zoom in a multi-mini-station interview (MMI), held in late November 2026 for 2027 entry. Its own pages differ on when invitations go out (mid-October or end of October), so check your email, including junk, from mid-October. Details were checked on 7 October 2026 and can change.

Domestic applicants (2027 entry)

  • The interview is a Multi-Mini-Station Interview (MMI). All domestic general and Rural Entry Admission applicants complete it by video conferencing on Zoom.
  • You are asked a series of questions. Each question is asked by a separate interviewer in a separate station, and you have approximately eight minutes to respond before you move to the next station.
  • Western Sydney says the MMI assesses non-cognitive qualities that matter to patients and communities.
  • Your UCAT ANZ result is used to select applicants for interview. Final offers are based on 75 per cent interview performance and 25 per cent UCAT ANZ performance, and on meeting the relevant academic threshold.
  • No other interview dates are offered. Applicants who are invited and do not attend on the specified date and time are regarded as having withdrawn, and only applicants who attend an interview are considered for final selection.

Domestic dates published (2027 entry)

  • The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) closing date was 30 September 2026 and has passed.
  • Invitations: the university's pages disagree. Its important dates page says "end October" for applicants to be invited. Its frequently asked questions page says you will be advised by email by mid-October. UAC lists late October 2026. Check your email, including junk, from mid-October, and confirm on the university's pages.
  • MMI: late November 2026. Specific details are given to those invited.
  • Offers: from January Round 1, 8 January 2027.

International applicants

International applicants from outside Australia and New Zealand follow a separate process. Western Sydney points them to its international applying guide, and the domestic details above should not be assumed to apply.

How to prepare

We do not publish stations from real interviews, and we do not predict what you will be asked. Read what Western Sydney itself says about its MMI first. If you want thinking practice, try our original practice scenarios. Some universities say they do not endorse commercial interview coaching, so weigh any paid preparation carefully.
