Medicine and dentistry entry explorer: each university's own UCAT ANZ rule
A filterable table of the UCAT ANZ Consortium courses and six well-known courses that are not on the Consortium's list. Rows link the university's page, Universities Admissions Centre (UAC), Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) or the Consortium's list, and show the date we checked. A fact we could not confirm is shown as Not confirmed or Not stated.
Last checked against the official sources.
This explorer shows what each university says about the UCAT ANZ, the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or grade point average (GPA), interviews, rural and Indigenous pathways and dates, with a source linked on every row. A field shown as Not confirmed means we could not verify it on an official page, and it is not a "no". It is not a prediction tool, and the university's page always wins.
Rows are the courses on the UCAT ANZ Consortium's official list for 2027 entry, which has 17 entries (18 universities, since Newcastle and New England share the Joint Medical Program), plus six well-known courses that are not on it. For the six rows that are not on the list, the UCAT status is Not confirmed unless the university's or an admissions centre's own page says the course does not use the test. Treat those rows as a prompt to check the university's page, not as a "no". Only Sydney and Bond are confirmed as not using the test on an official page.
How to read a row
New Zealand applicants are ranked differently from the ATAR. The University of Auckland ranks applicants by grade point average (GPA) in listed courses, according to its MBChB page, and the University of Otago's UCAT article names Health Science First Year and Graduate categories but gives no ranking rule, so check Otago's own Medicine page.
- UCAT role is how the university says it uses the score, such as a threshold, an interview ranking or a share of a combined ranking.
- ATAR or GPA is a stated minimum or rule, with its year where the page gives one. It is not a predicted cut-off, and meeting a minimum does not guarantee an interview or a place. A few rows also quote a figure from a past intake, with its year, such as Bond's 2025 cut-offs and the Sunshine Coast's 2026 intake. These are not predictions.
- Other tests covers things like Casper or psychometric testing.
- Dates are as published, with the year. Some pages still show an older cycle, and we say when they do.
Do not compare rows by a single "weighting" and assume a higher share means a harder course. Some universities use UCAT ANZ only to decide who gets an interview, others only as a threshold, and some publish no weighting at all.
Keeping it honest
- Every row links its source, either the university's own page where we could read it or Universities Admissions Centre (UAC), Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) or the Consortium's list, and shows the date we checked it. Some application deadlines in the rows have already passed, so check the university's page for what is still open.
- Where we could not check a university's own page, the row shows Not confirmed, and we never fill the gap from a third-party site.
- Medical school rules change yearly. See changes for 2027 and 2028 entry for the biggest ones.
