For domestic school leavers (2027 entry)
This section follows UWA's pages for the Doctor of Medicine and the Doctor of Dental Medicine, which give the same interview details for domestic school leavers.
- Format: a Multiple Mini Interview of 8 numbered stations, each focused on one question. You move between stations in numbered order, with a different interviewer at each.
- Timing: each station takes 7 minutes, made up of 2 minutes to consider the question and 5 minutes with the interviewer to respond aloud. UWA says the whole process, including registration, takes about 70 to 75 minutes.
- Questions: given in writing. Interviewers may or may not ask follow-up questions. UWA says questions come from a pool and are assessed on what you say in response.
- Attributes: UWA lists accountability, ethical and moral judgement, communication, problem solving, self-awareness, teamwork, conflict resolution, empathy and resilience, among others.
- Who is invited: invitations are based on UCAT ANZ performance. There is no set minimum score. The threshold is set by ranking within each quota each year.
- How the final ranking works: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or equivalent 30 per cent, interview 50 per cent and UCAT ANZ 20 per cent. For rural applicants it is ATAR 22.5 per cent, interview 37.5 per cent, UCAT ANZ 15 per cent and rurality rating 25 per cent.
Dates published (2027 entry)
- Applications are through Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) and closed in late September 2026.
- Interview eligibility notifications are planned after the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) exams are finished.
- Interviews are planned for selected dates within 30 November to 11 December 2026. UWA says these dates are subject to change and that not every date in the range will be available. Shortlisted candidates are told their specific date.
- UWA says that candidates who cannot attend within the offered range cannot be guaranteed another date.
For international applicants
UWA runs a different interview for international school leavers: a panel of two interviewers for about 50 minutes, with typically five MMI-style questions and an overall time limit rather than a time for each question. UWA's international school leaver entry uses the International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) rather than the UCAT ANZ. Check UWA's pages for the international pathway.

How to prepare
UWA says all resources on the UCAT ANZ website are free and that it does not recommend or endorse commercially available admissions test preparation courses. We do not publish stations from real interviews, and we do not predict what you will be asked. Try our original practice scenarios for thinking practice, and read what the university itself says about its interview.
