Adelaide University's domestic medicine interview (2027 entry) is an online Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) with at least six stations of 10 minutes each, one interviewer per station, held late November to December 2026. Invitations go out on 22 October 2026. Adelaide says entry requirements are provisional and subject to change, so confirm on its page before you plan.

For Australian and New Zealand applicants (2027 entry)

This section follows Adelaide's guide for domestic applicants, who apply through South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). International applicants have a different process, set out further down.

  • Format: a Multiple Mini Interview made up of scenarios and questions, with a minimum of six stations of 10 minutes each and one interviewer per station.
  • Delivery: online over Zoom. Adelaide says there is no option for an in-person, telephone or other video interview.
  • Who is invited: about 600 applicants. Invitations are based on UCAT ANZ results, not academic record. At least half of the invited school leavers will be from South Australia.
  • One interview covers every eligible program: if you qualify for more than one of medical studies, dental surgery and oral health, you attend a single interview.
  • How offers are ranked: UCAT ANZ 20 per cent, interview 40 per cent and academic score 40 per cent.
  • What is assessed: Adelaide lists problem solving, communication, teamwork, empathy, integrity, preparedness for the program, cultural awareness and motivation.

Dates for domestic applicants (2027 entry)

  • SATAC applications closed on 30 September 2026.
  • Interview eligibility email and booking opens: 22 October 2026.
  • Interview booking closes: 29 October 2026.
  • Interviews are held from late November to December 2026.
  • Northern Community Care Stream pathway: invitations in January 2027 and interviews in late January 2027.
  • SATAC releases offers from January 2027.

These are the dates in Adelaide's domestic key dates table. Adelaide says the entry requirements for this degree are provisional and subject to change, and that interview content and conduct may change from year to year. Its key dates table does not label individual dates tentative, so check the page and your email, and ask Adelaide's domestic admissions team if anything is unclear.

Rural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pathways

Adelaide reserves about 41 medicine places for applicants from a rural background and has places for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants, who do not need the UCAT ANZ. Interviews for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pathway are different: a panel of three to four people for about 20 minutes. See the pathway sections on Adelaide's domestic page.

For international applicants

International applicants are in a separate process on a different page of Adelaide's site. For 2027 entry it says the interview has at least two stations of up to 10 minutes each, led by one interviewer, with the interview outcome emailed on 17 September 2026 and interviews held from late September to early October 2026. If you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident, these dates and this format do not apply to you.

How to prepare

Adelaide encourages preparation but discourages reciting rehearsed responses, and it says it does not endorse commercially available interview preparation courses. We do not publish stations from real interviews, and we do not predict what you will be asked. Try our original practice scenarios for thinking practice, and read what the university itself says about its interview.

ExamExplained is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the university or the UCAT ANZ Consortium. We are run alongside a tutoring business (see /about); the university's own page always comes first.
