2short Q&A pairs drawn directly from our worked dot-point answer. For full context and worked exam questions, read the parent dot-point page.
What is match the command word to the depth required?Show answer
"Identify/outline" wants the purpose plus one attributed example; "explain" wants a mechanism linking the purpose to a change in method or evidence; "evaluate/assess" wants at least three purposes tested against a stated claim (for example, that history has only one true purpose), ending in a calibrated judgement.
What is use the purpose-purpose contrast, not just a list?Show answer
A top answer sets two purposes against each other (moral versus emancipatory, or empiricist versus sceptical) to show HOW differently they treat the same evidence, rather than describing purposes one after another in isolation.
