Reading critically means not just understanding a text but questioning it. Useful questions:

A 3 to 4 mark question wants one or two clearly identified techniques or jobs with brief evidence; an 8-mark analyse question wants all three jobs (inform, persuade, connect) discussed with evidence, plus a final judgement on which job the text prioritises overall.
