Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil Engineering)

at Victoria University, Victoria.

A four-year Engineers Australia-accredited civil engineering honours degree at Footscray Park; VU also offers electrical and electronic and mechanical engineering as separate degrees. VTAC publishes no lowest selection rank for it. VCE prerequisites are a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL (or 25 in EAL) and at least 20 in any mathematics.

Lowest selection rank

VU has not published a lowest selection rank for this course for recent intakes. That usually means too few ATAR-based offers were made to report one, or that selection also uses a portfolio, audition, interview or other criteria. Check the current entry requirements on the official course page.

  • Problem-solvers who enjoy practical lab and design work
  • Patient team players willing to do group projects across all four years
  • Self-starters who chase summer engineering internships
  • Students who can keep going through hard maths courses

It is probably not for you if

  • Students who dislike maths or have not done methods/specialist and physics
  • People wanting a humanities-style course with light contact hours
  • Those who avoid group work and lab reports
  • Students unwilling to do industry placement during summer breaks
