What you will study

First year covers financial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, business statistics, commercial law and an introduction to finance. UniSQ delivers the degree on campus at Toowoomba, Springfield and Ipswich and fully online, allowing many students to complete the CPA-accredited accounting sequence externally while working. Second year develops the accounting and finance core: management accounting, corporate finance, company law, taxation and auditing for accounting-major students, plus economics and quantitative electives. The subjects map to the CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants ANZ knowledge requirements. Third year covers advanced accounting, advanced taxation, strategic management and a capstone or industry project. Students completing the accredited accounting major satisfy the academic entry requirements for CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants ANZ professional programmes. Some students add a work-integrated learning placement with a regional accounting practice.
