What IGNITE is
IGNITE is an accelerated learning program for gifted and talented students in South Australian public schools. Entry is through an assessment that ACER sets and marks and whose registration portal ACER runs. Students sit it at an IGNITE school.
Official details
Glenunga International High School's IGNITE page says:

- Registration: opens Monday 2 November 2026 through the ACER portal.
- Year 5 students may apply with a signed principal recommendation.
- Students sit the assessment only once, at one location, and must live in Australia at assessment time.
- Rural and interstate students may arrange testing at their primary school with prior approval.

The assessment covers reading comprehension, mathematical reasoning, abstract reasoning and written expression, and runs for about three hours including a break at Glenunga. The Heights allows up to five hours on site, so check your school.
A registration fee applies, set through the ACER portal (The Heights listed $150, non-refundable, for 2026). The 2027 amount and the closing date are not yet published on the school pages, so register early.
Coaching and preparation
The Glenunga page does not state a coaching position. ACER's registration guide says IGNITE has no sample questions for sale, and that the Ignite Information for Students bulletin sent after you register contains some example questions. Any practice items on this site are original, not official, and not endorsed by ACER or the Department. Contact: dl.0927.ignite@schools.sa.edu.au.
Missing the registration window. The official page says no late applications are accepted, so register early.
