What are conservation strategies?Show answer
Conservation strategies aim to protect biodiversity and ecological function, and they work at different scales.
What are evaluating strategies?Show answer
No single strategy is sufficient, and each has trade-offs. Protected areas conserve habitat but can shift pressure onto unprotected land and may exclude some traditional or economic uses. Threatened-species programs can save a species but are costly and do not address the original threat. Sustainable harvesting depends on accurate monitoring and enforcement, and quotas set too high still deplete stocks.
